Chef Don Smith
To my friends new and old. My name is Don Smith. I am a Red Seal Chef with 34 years experience. I attended and received a certificate in culinary arts from Nova Scotia Community College. I was born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
I moved to Eganville six years ago to take the position of chef at the Rio Tap and Grill, formerly Frisco's. My passion for food and the industry continues and with our new restaurant at the Highlands, I look forward to providing my best to the members and guests.
Our new menu has something delicious and nutritious for everyone. We serve fresh from our oven or grill to your table. Our home style family recipes feature something for everyone from "Starters" to "Shareables" to "Mains."
We had our AGM on Tuesday, April 22nd, and the menu Frisco’s put on was very good. There was plenty of staff to look after all requests. Iris did a great job serving our table. I had the Tomahawk pork chop and it was delicious; would recommend it. The meal portion was just right.
I give the AGM meal 9 out of 10. Considering the number of guests, the meal service was quite reasonable. The salad was adequate and quickly served. At our table we had salmon, ribs, chicken and steak. The chicken portion was a bit small but very tasty. The salmon and ribs were excellent. One steak was returned as it was too rare. It was replaced with a new steak that was great and a free piece of delicious chocolate cake.
Hi Don: I just wanted to thank you and your team for a terrific dinner Tuesday evening, AGM meeting. The ribs and salmon were excellent and served hot. The service was also very good and went very smoothly for the first event. We are looking forward to many more.
